What is an amusement ride/device?
A device or combination of devices or elements that carry, convey, or direct a person(s) over or through a fixed or restricted course or within a defined area, for the primary purpose of amusement or entertainment. These devices range from roller coasters, flat circular ride, upright rides, walk through, slides, cables or air pillows.
What is a Safety Consultant?
A safety consultant helps reduce the risk of loss of life or property damage by mitigating the cause(s) both known and unknown. This is done by using risk management and loss control methods. The focus is to reduce property damage and injury.
What is an Expert Witness/Safety Specialist?
Is someone who possesses special knowledge, skill, training, and education that goes beyond the level of experience of ordinary members of the public, which experience, when taken as a whole, uniquely qualifies him or her to render an opinion about matters before the Court. This opinion is based on the facts of the situation.
What is an Incident?
An incident is one or more events that lead to an occurrence where property damage, injury, death or a near-miss is the resulting factor. Very often it is given the term accident, it is not. An accident is preventable.
What is an Amusement Ride Safety Consultant?
They are an individual with a safety background and amusement ride/device expertise. They may also offer sworn testimony. The focus of any safety consultant is the same. They want to ascertain the cause(s) of the incident so that measures can be put in place to prevent a reoccurrence.
What type of consultant(s) do I need?
Consultants do not come in a one-size-fits-all category. Take amusement rides for example: they are like doctors you have a general practice and you have your specialists. Depending on what your exact situation is you may need one or more consultants/expert to properly assist or evaluate your particular set of circumstances.
